Want to know what's the best place in Rio?

You are planning a holiday in Rio de Janeiro to Brazil. You pay your money for flights and accommodation. There's been a long time in Rio. And you want to make sure Brazil's rest is a memorable experience.

Choosing places to visit Rio is a stressful experience. There is so much to do in the wonderful city. I fully understand what you are facing. My vacation in Rio was only rented for one week. After that experience, I spent 18 years in Brazil.

I recommend the best places in Rio.

1. Copacabana Beach

Copacabana beach is one of Brazil's most famous beach. The three-kilometer-long sandy beach overlooks Guanabara Bay and offers spectacular views of the Sugarloaf Mountain. The beach at both ends of the fort offers a tourist opportunity to learn a bit about the history of both the city of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil.

2. Sugarloaf Hill (Pao de Acucar)

The Sugarloaf Hill quartz and granite peak rising from Guanabara Bay to 396 meters high. A glass-walled elevator will take you to Praia Vermelha (Red Beach) and Morro da Urca (Urca Hill), and then to the top of the Sugarloaf. The journey takes less than 20 minutes, but looks at Rio, which you will never forget.

3. Maracana Stadium

Maracana Stadium is one of the biggest football stadiums in the world. This was the 1950 World Cup finals when Brazil lost Uruguay before it faced 199,954 spectators. Which is far more spectacular than the stadium itself, the enthusiasm of Brazilian football fans. Do not just visit the stadium, visit Maracana to watch football.

4. Tijuca National Park (Parque Nacional da Tijuca)

One of the things that Rio de Janeiro is so beautiful is the large amount of nature that is part of this large city center. The nearly 4000 acres of Tijuca National Park is the largest city forest in the world. Within a few minutes you can leave the concrete jungle of the Rio Expanders and visit the waterfalls, caves, lakes and other wonders of nature.

5. Corcovado

Corcovado, a Portuguese word "humpback", is a 710-meter granite peak in Tijuca Florest. At the top, the peak is the redeeming statue of 38 meters in Christ, with arms pointing towards Rio. The statue was recently classified as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. You can catch a tram to the summit. The lookout platform allows you to enjoy breathtaking views of the city.
