How does stress affect the nervous system?

The nervous system combines the brain, the backbone and the multitude of nerves through the body. The nervous system runs the body. In this regard, it is responsible for the bodies in the body to do the right things at the right time. It is also responsible for responding to external stimulation. Schedule, monitor and make decisions that keep the body functioning and conscious. This is usually referred to as homeostasis. Some of these physiological changes include faster heart rate, release of adrenaline and cortisol into the bloodstream, pulling blood from the body's stomach and limbs and dilating pupils of the eye. This is called a fight or flight response.

All of these changes have become necessary for the body in sudden stressful situations, but are extremely harmful to health when they are not considered an exception and become norms. This usually occurs when the body experiences chronic or sustained stress or when the nervous system tells the body that this is the case.

This is the ultimate point because the nervous system regulates how the body reacts after a stressful situation. This is often referred to as rest and digestive response. Among others, the nervous system reduces the amount of energy hormones in the bloodstream, reduces the heart rate, and redirects blood to the stomach and limbs. This means that everything is OK, you can restart your meal.

If the nervous system constantly says that the body is in a high mood, then you do not know or tell the body to calm down and relax. Ultimately, this is dangerous to the health of the body. This is why relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga and deep breathing are popular methods for the nervous system to believe that everything is OK and that the body begins to relax.
